The ship ran aground off the coast of Tuscany, Italy, late on Friday, sending water pouring in through a 160-foot gash in the hull, and forcing the evacuation of some 4,200 people from the listing vessel early on Saturday.
Built at a cost of £372 million, the 950ft long Costa Concordia has five restaurants and 13 bars, four swimming pools and can hold 3,700 passengers.
